University Committee on Research in the Humanities and Social Sciences Print this section The University Committee on Research in the Humanities and Social Sciences administers, on behalf of the President, a fund established by the Board of Trustees to support the scholarly activities of regular tenured and tenure-track members of the Faculty in the Humanities and Social Sciences. The Committee is composed of three department Chairs in the Humanities and Social Sciences Divisions, appointed to three-year terms by the Dean of the Faculty. It acts to advise the President on awards made to provide funds for research assistance, travel, and publication of results in connection with the scholarship of the faculty in these two Divisions.
